Ten years ago, Established Co-founders Frank Gruber and Jen Consalvo hosted their first ever SXSW startup celebration event. The black hat theme brought out everyone’s love for tech and Mr. Johnny Cash. Entrepreneurs, innovators, and tech enthusiasts shared the evening with 30 rising startups selected for the event.
Gruber and Consalvo’s very first event was sponsored by tech giants including Microsoft, Intel, and Volusion - and over the past decade, Established has had the privilege of working with even more incredible innovation leaders, such as Google for Entrepreneurs, Kauffman Foundation, Consumer Technology Association, and more at SXSW. In the decade since, they’ve had the pleasure of helping hundreds of up-and-coming companies become globally-recognized titans.

This year, the Established House of Startups & Innovation will be held on March 14 during SXSW, which includes a day of programming that honors the intersection of startups and innovation, the Startup of the Year™ SXSW Pitch Competition, Startup Night SXSW 2020, and much more!
To mark this special anniversary, Established Ventures is offering up to $10K in potential investment to one (or more) of the startups highlighted at the Startup of the Year SXSW 2020 Competition; the winner will also be fast-tracked to compete at the 8th Annual Startup of the Year Summit this fall.

About Startup of the Year™ powered by Established:
Startup of the Year is a competition, global community, and resource. The culmination of the competition will take place this fall at the 8th annual Startup of the Year Summit (location to be announced), where the Top 100 Semifinalists from the 2020 application pool will be invited to pitch, meet investors one-on-one, and spotlight their startup to the tech enthusiast community.
In addition to the Startup of the Year™ Competition, a special .US Veteran Startup of the Year category will take place at the Summit. Our partner, .US, will provide a $10,000 cash prize to the best qualified Veteran founded company within the Startup of the Year competition.
Applications for the Startup of the Year are being accepted until April 30, 2020 with opportunities to be selected as a Fast-track Winner at an event, such as SXSW or by one of our online Fast-track Judges.
